Zero Tolerance Policy

 With the addition of 24-hour access, the Champaign Family YMCA has adopted a Zero Tolerance Policy. Violations of the following YMCA policies will result in the revocation of all membership privileges without a refund. These policies are in place for everyone’s safety and enjoyment of the Champaign Family YMCA at all hours of the day. Usage 

As a member with 24-hour access, you may use the Champaign Family YMCA fitness facilities at any time. During our normal business hours, the 24/7 access scanner will not be active. You must use the front entrance to enter the building. The building will be staffed at the following times: 

Monday- Friday: 5:00am- 9:00pm

Saturday: 7:00am-5:00pm

Sunday: 1:00pm- 6:00pm 

24/7 hours:

Monday- Friday: 7:30p-5:00a

Saturday: 4:30p-1:00p

Sunday: 4:30p-5:00a

Outside of these hours, there will be no YMCA staff present to monitor the Y building. Members with 24-hour access may enter the rear door by scanning their key fob. Members use the facility and equipment after hours at their own risk.

Guest Policy 

Guests are only allowed in the building during regular business hours when a YMCA staff member is on duty. No guests are allowed outside the times listed above. Allowing a guest to utilize the 24-Hour Access Program is a violation of this policy. Membership may be revoked if this policy is violated.

Age Requirements

 24-hour access will only be granted to those who are ages 18 and older. Members violating this policy will lose membership privileges and no refunds will be given. 

Locker Rooms

 Locker Rooms will not be accessible during non-business hours. Male and female restrooms are available outside the main gym entrance.

Available Areas

 The 24-Hour Access Program provides access to the Fitness Center, Aerobics Studio, and Gym.

After YMCA Staff leaves the building, the following rooms will be unavailable:

•  Pool
• Locker Rooms/Saunas 
• Multi-Purpose Room
• Front Desk/Lobby/Offices
• Child Watch
• Infant/Toddler and Preschool Wings

Safety and Security

 The YMCA has installed a 24-hour video recording system for security purposes. Video surveillance will be active and archived for review. Please note that this system will not protect you from harm in or on the building premises and will not alert anyone if help is needed. Please use caution when entering and leaving the building. You must bring your own cell phone when you use the facility after hours. The Y’s address and emergency phone numbers are posted for easy access. In the event of an emergency, immediately dial 911. The City of Urbana Police and Fire Departments will be able to access the building during non-business hours. Members are strongly encouraged to bring a partner and never work out alone.

Key Fob Use and Replacement 

24-hour access is an enhanced membership benefit available to Champaign Family YMCA members only. A key fob is required to access the facility after-hours, and may be purchased for $25. If you would like to purchase an additional key fob for another family member included in your YMCA membership (18 or older), you may do so for $25. Please notify the Y immediately in the event of a lost or stolen key fob. There is a $25 charge for replacement of any lost key fobs.
